The Karakastek project grew from a personal story into a full international Rotary partnership. After an adoption visit to Kazakhstan, Muriel Collison and her partners initiated grant work to support children in the Karakastek orphanage.
With Rotary International support and collaboration between Rotary Club of Almaty and partner clubs abroad, nearly USD 13,000 was raised over 18 months. The project delivered priority items such as beds, mattresses, books, clothing, household appliances and educational equipment.
Beyond material aid, the project established a long-term culture of coordinated sponsorship and practical follow-through for vulnerable children.
