Project Baganashyl: Graduation Dresses and Suits for 30 Orphanage Children

In April–June 2012, Rotary Club of Almaty rallied the Almaty community to provide graduation dresses and suits for 30 school-leavers from an orphanage, as well as summer clothing — with the support of 13 organisations and many individuals.

Project Baganashyl: Graduation Dresses and Suits for 30 Orphanage Children

In the orphanage previously sponsored by Rotary Club of Almaty, 30 children were completing their school education in 2012. The city administration approached the club with a request: to help find evening dresses and suits for the graduates.

Throughout April and June, many people responded to the club's appeal and supported this social project. Through word of mouth and the assistance of the Steppe'n Out magazine, summer clothing was also provided to the children.

All the children express their gratitude to the following supporters: Alla Roshonok (ETH-Kazakhstan), Irina Soluyanova (Kazakhstan Consulting), Lyudmila Fedyukova (Panalpina), Yulia Kussidi (Eurobak), Yulia Cherdantseva (Afisha magazine), Alexander Ruzanov (Brief Agency), Tatyana Matlakhova (Asia Direct), Valentina Korabelnikova (Baker & McKenzie), USAID, Vlad Galushko (Crisis Group), Korlan Khassenova (USAID), Victoria and Altyn (Bank Kassanova), Zhanagul Bokayeva (Damu Logistics), and all members of Rotary Club of Almaty.

Every graduate deserves to walk onto the stage in dignity. Thank you to everyone who made that possible.
