End Polio Now
Rotary has been fighting to eradicate polio for over 35 years. Since 1988, the number of polio cases has dropped by more than 99.9%. We are tantalizingly close to a polio-free world — and Rotary Club of Almaty is proud to be part of this historic mission.
Every October 24 — World Polio Day — we take to the streets of Almaty for our annual awareness walk and fundraising drive. We light Almaty orange, raise funds matched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and remind our community that we must not stop until every child is safe.
For every $1 Rotary raises for polio eradication, the Gates Foundation contributes an additional $2. Your donation is tripled in impact.
