The largest project by expenditure within the "Clean Air Almaty" platform was the equipment of the operating rooms of the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital "Aksai" with professional air purification systems.

Following the tremendous success of the Rotary Vienna Ball 2014, the club was able to raise sufficient funds to purchase professional air purification equipment and resolve the critical problem of air quality in the operating rooms. Before this project, the situation in the Aksai clinic's operating rooms was dire — there were not only no air purification devices, but not even air conditioning. Surgeons were forced to operate even in the summer heat in stifling conditions.

But the most dangerous side effect was post-operative infections caused by poor air quality in the operating rooms, which frequently led to severe, life-threatening complications in child patients.

The equipment was installed by specialists from the company Tenre-Aerolife. The club was very pleased to learn that immediately after installation, the number of post-operative complications related to air quality dropped to virtually zero.

This project stands as one of the club's most impactful — directly improving the safety of surgical care for the thousands of children treated at Aksai Hospital each year.
